perhaps the best weekend yet!

amazing stuff! we won clare novices regatta! queens' b rocks! daisy (cox) nikki (stroke) lucy (7) louise (6) amy (5) emma (4) constance (3) charlotte (2) me! (bow) and kate our coach.but in chronological order....
friday night watched bring it on with weevien (erin don't you love it? i'm sexy i'm cute i'm popular to boot!) then my sister finally arrived at like 11! happily went to get burger and chips... almost got accosted by two scary guys but made it back safely. happiness all around! cos i love my sister :) :)

saturday had second round of clare novices. left at 9 to buy a sneaky cake cos it was amy and charlotte's bday... met at the boat house for warm upss! our first race against selwyn c (the letters represent the boat rank... like we're queens' b meaning we're the second boat in queens') which we won quite easily. i think they had some trouble at the start so we ended up racing on our own. excited cos we made the semis! but... that meant i'd have to be out the entire day and not spend time with my sister! on the row home, it started pouring!!!!!!! like really pouring!!! splash top is fantastic but it doesn't protect your legs, your bum, your head, your fingers. reached the boat house completely soaked. we had a radiator party. basically a whole bunch of us sticking our bums against the radiator trying to get dry.wet minging hair!! heh but like our team tops with queens' down the arm?? the fit is a bit dodgy but otherwise it's COOL! also had cake and happy times with the team! erging to dry off.... walking around in tights. mine were not quite opaque... heh but all the boys were upstairs so that was ok. then running out (with trousers all put back on) to get hot chocolate...

then at 3+ pushed off for the semis against christs b (saraho's boat!). possibly the funniest race cos everything went wrong on our part! our 4's gate came undone and her blade flew out. she somehow managed to screw it back on but we were rowing for the greater part with just 7 rowers! our cox box died so we couldn't hear a word daisy was saying... and our stroke's seat came out. i have no idea how she managed to row... but yess we beat christs by a good 3feet according to my coach. hah i dunno i thought it was a really hard race. i really must have died right there and then. my legs just wouldn't move. but we won. thank goodness.

then finals was IMMEDIATELY after. against selwyn a! an A boat lehhhh! it was a super duper exciting race. after attention go, we were in the lead by about a third of a boat... then they did an amazing legs10 and got ahead of us by half a boat. i tell you...when i saw them gaining (i know i shouldn't be looking) i really wanted to give up already. haha yes i know i'm an awful sportsman. then we rounded the corner fantastically (amazing daisy!!) and drew level with them... and for the last 100m it was REALLY neck and neck. omg i've never rowed SOO hard. it was actually so close that 2 of the 3 marshals didn't know who won. and the third said queens'. SO WE WONNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg i've never come in first my whole life! hahahha. so we got a medal for our win! omg i'm one of 36 people (boys have upper lower division girls have upper lower division. 9 people in a boat. we're lower division) in cambridge who have that. is that cool or whatttt!! haha i'm sorry i'm gushing but we were really so psyched! like it was just AMAZING. and at least being out rowing the entire day, soaked for the most part, was worth it!the winners :D haha we had birthday balloons!

queens' domination so far! m1 (men's A boat) won queens' ergs, w1 won emma sprints. now w2 won clare regatta! haha it was quite funny how the hope of queens' rested on our shoulders cos none of the other boats made it to their finals. w1, w3, m3, m4 all got knocked out after the first race. m5, m2 didn't make it to semis. m1 lost semis didn't make finals. so yahhh we are quite good ahh!

got back really late. think my sister was a bit annoyed cos i abandoned her for the entire day. felt quite horrid cos after all, i dragged her down to spend the weekend with me. oh well. dinner with the anatomy prof and his wife. OHHHHH homecooked food! simple roasted chicken, vegetables and potatoes. but so yummy! i had 3 helpings :D haha and 2 helpings of pudding (amazing lemon tart). i think they were a bit scared by how much i ate. but hey i didn't have a proper lunch and i was rowing the whole day. felt so happy after that. well fed indeed. then came back and just talked to my sister the rest of the night. oh and got her onto facebook. haha!

this morning we went for full english breakfast at the copper kettle. ooooooh yummy! then went shopping for hats. then i had to go for rowing outing (yes rowing AGAIN! i was quite annoyed. i really didn't want to go. but it was our last outing for the term) we rowed 10km. i wanted to die. was already exhausted from yesterday. now even more exhausted. novice fairbairns (massive race of the term) on thursday is 1800m. HOWWWWW??? aye but we've won clare regatta already so never mind. heh. then cycled back really really quickly and ran back to my room to maximise my time with my sister. haha... we went for a yummy lunch at the rat and parrot. and my sister is so nice and generous. she insisted on buying me a nice pudding. but no. must. save. money. and i was ok-full anyway. sat there for like an hour just talking. then sent her off at the bus station. cried cos i will miss her :( felt miserable. and this man at the bus station tried to cheer me up, it was quite funny. but i still felt miserable.

came back, forgot all about amy's party (oopssss. i hope ppl went. but i was feeling really rubbishy i would have made crap company) then went for some christmas carol service. that was ok i guess. like the choir was really cool. and the organ player is my friend. but i don't know all these christian songs. and i should have spent that time sleeping. it ended really late and i only had like 10min to get ready for charlotte's bday formal. formal was quite fun! medics vets and some random ppl. it was good to talk to different ppl for a change. and the food was really good! then we all went to the bar to chat. ayeee good times! yes so this was possibly the best weekend :)

haven't read tmr's dissection notes. haven't had enough sleep. am dead.
