ah i just got back last night! today i have to wash all the winter clothes :( ANYWAY... i had a great time! a lot of photos so i'll divide germany and uk into 2 posts. i'm sorry if you find it boring but it's a way for me to remember things that happened on the trip!
we spent a while in munich (or muchen)... shopping there is so cheap! but we had very little time. we also saw the world cup stadium! frankly i thought it looked like a turban and was quite ugly. but apparently it can change colours to suit the teams playing so that's quite cool.
then another driver took us to Garmisch-Partenkirchen where we were gonna stay for the next few days. he was really funny! kept telling us about skiing, audis, mercs and bmws... offering us chocolate... the scary bit is that on the highways, there isn't a speed limit. so most ppl drive at 160+km/h. which our driver did. and the mad man would take his hands off the wheel to gesture as he spoke or turn around to talk to us.
well when we reached, my sister and i were pleasantly surprised to find that we got the better room compared to my parents!
and the view from the room! gorgeous!
we even got our ski boots fitted the night before skiing... so everything would be ready for tmr.
we took a walk outside the hotel before the bus to the ski slopes came. germany is mine!!!
that was before we started to feel really cold. (temp was about -7 degrees celsius) so we ran back into the hotel to suit up! this is our hotel... which apparently is the best in garmisch.
lost?? haha my sister is my muse. i usually take the photos so i make her do all sorts of stupid poses.
the ski school!
waiting for the ski lift... it was so crowded!
our ski outfits... heehee don't you think my sister looks like erlang shen with her oakley sign???
we had lunch everyday at this restaurant called "bayernhaus" on the mountain. you can sit inside or outside.
my bratwurst!! usually i don't take pictures of my food because as you all know, i like to eat my hot food really hot and my cold food really cold. but... my bratwurst looked too happy so i obliged with a photo. yummyyyy!!!
german beer is good! unfortunately i get red easily :(
the weather was so nice! really cold (surprisingly bearable though) but it was sunny! i'm in love with germany... i want to study there! then i can go skiing every weekend.
with my ski instructor... haha he was so nice and patient! he has these willy wonka sunglasses but he wasn't wearing them when we took the photo. hmm and skiing is really fun! it was my virgin attempt and thankfully i wasn't too bad! it was slightly embarrassing when all these tiny 4 or 5 year old kids came zooming down past us! but really the kids there are so adorable!
and one night, we went on this mad trek in a forest to dinner. we had to carry torches...
it was a 20 minute trek up a mountain. cold, hungry, tired. when we reached the dinner place, we were greeted with hot wine and traditional music. too bad they don't yodel there! haha after all my practice with pritz in the school field, i would have joined in!
so in conclusion (!) germany was fantastic! every meal was superb, the weather was perfect, the company was good and the skiing was even better! wish we could have stayed longer... but we had to go to uk for CNY!
