i think i'm finally proving i deserve to be here :)
monday we had physiology expt with frog legs. yuckkkkk. they showed us this very retro video with a guy with big glasses and wearing suspenders explaining the theory of the expt and getting all excited about stripping the skin off the frog. ooh science! it just makes me shiver with delight. hmm. anyway it was a rather rubbishy practical. our frog leg was going absolutely mental! twitching all over the place. haha then biked over for erg training. i somehow survived 20min.
tuesday was my 'stupid' day. we had MIMS prac and omg hannah and i knew nothing. we were lab partners and couldn't help each other at all. charlotte and emma were sitting across from us and they had made friends with the (horrible) german demonstrator. tom and rob (whom i think a genius) were our bench partners. so anyway we had to ask the german demonstrator for help cos our machine wasn't working. tom and rob came over to listen in on whatever he was saying right. and THEN the horrible man started asking me and hannah questions and i didn't know what the hell he was talking about! so he would ask a question and then look at me (why me!!!) for the answer and there would be this terrible terrible silence. and the whole time i was thinking: save me robbbbbb!!! and no one said anything. it was actually quite funny if i weren't feeling so stupid. but anw emma answered the question and the german man was happy. you could obviously tell he thought hannah and i were complete idiots and that he adored charlotte and emma. haha actually now that i think about it it was seriously damn funny. after that i demanded an explanation from rob why he didn't save us all and he said he had no clue either. haha! but well we've decided the german man hates us so we then kept asking this other nice geeky man for help. then HOM supervision in the evening which thankfully didn't turn out badly considering i couldn't follow the lecture series at all. i actually think my supervisor doesn't hate me anymore. yayy!
wed night alex came over to revise for steeplechase. i think more like helping me revise though. he's damn smart and i just ended up guessing and looking to him for the answer.
benefits of working under stress-
alex: what is the upper border of the femoral triangle?
me: huhhhh...... shit bloody hell i don't know!
alex: no.. you know! you answered this during supervision!
me: i did? but i really don't know.
alex: inguinal ligament. you told theo that! you know it!
me: i definitely didn't know that.
me: what forms the base of the anatomical snuff box?
alex: errrr... i don't know.
me: yes you do! you answered that in theo's supervision!
alex: huh really?
after a very long pause: oh is it the scaphoid?
mannn theo must be one scary man.
haha anyway chicken rice beckons. i hope it turns out ok!
