mount royal 2

wed. my dad goes for his conference so i hang out with the taitai gang. uber cool.

this is the conference hall. very un-dowdy right? it's really nice when the sun shines through the panels in the day!

anyway the taitai gang. i felt quite stressed when i was going to meet them cos well... they are rich and i'm not. there were 5 of them and amongst them they had: gucci, lv, chanel and ferragamo bags, chanel walking shoes, ferragamo sunglasses, fendi sunglasses, burberry coat, tiffany & co. jewellery and i'm almost certain bvlgari earrings. needless to say i felt like a tramp. we met for lunch at 11 at a lovely french bistro called pier gabriel for lunch. we sat outside cos the weather was wonderful. it was the strangest feeling cos the sun was shining hot on my face but the chilly wind was blowing on the back of my neck :S i had potato (!) soup and fresh pasta. [shuching would love it cos it was FULL OF CHEESE. i actually liked it!] everyone drank diet coke but me. being ladies of the earth, we visited the botanical gardens that afternoon.it was next to the stade olympique. [i think that's how you spell it] but none of them wanted to see it. they're avid gardeners you see. i'm really not much of a plant person but it was actually rather nice. the kind of place to spend a leisurely afternoon in. having a picnic... or lying on the grass. wonderful! haha but then the weather got so hot my nose actually burnt! haha the ladies were all very sweet so i had a good time with them! ahhh if i ever live in a temperate climate i'm going to have a massive tulip garden. they are the prettiest flowers ever!my favourite!

in the giftshop they sold little potted venus fly traps dirt cheap (no pun intended) and i really wanted to get one but i wasn't sure whether you can bring living plants into spore.

got back to the hotel and waited for my dad to go for dinner. i almost fell asleep! 6pm was always when i felt the sleepiest in canada. luckily tv at that time is good. there's malcolm in the middle, the simpsons, family guy (omg it's soooo funny), friends and sex and the city reruns. haha thankfully they weren't in french.

that night we visited 唐人街. chinatown!haha i know we really shouldn't but every city we go to, we MUST visit chinatown. eeeee chinatown there is so... dingy. we had vietnamese noodles for dinner. then walked around the area after that. actually there isn't very much to see in montreal... unless you are super duper arty-farty cos they have lots of art museums and galleries. we were gonna visit the casino but i forgot why we scrapped that idea.

Ooh lovely flowers! Wow you jetsetter Yingmei... I hardly go to Canada though my cousins always exhort us to come visit them.

And my dad always drags us to Chinatown too wherever we go! But usually I absolute collapse with relieved contentment when I see my porridge/char siew/hor fun/noodle soup that doesn't taste like piss. And you actually pay less for the better food! The only thing I don't get are those horrible stained pink tablecloths. What's up with that man.
