blogging mode: EXTRA long

sorry i haven't been blogging for a while. no major things happening i think. er... newater plant was such a bore. how disappointing. i think it only appeals to those 6 and below. and jap and kimchi tourists who plan to steal s'pore's technology by filming the entire tour although they stress like 5 or 6 times not to do so.

oh i didn't talk about the s-cube seminar! i seriously started reflecting on NS with my dad when i got back. it's like one of those obs things where it's damn tough but the experience is so enriching and nan2 de2. really i admire guys for going for NS> no wait i admire THE FACT that guys can get through NS. i mean i'm such a nehnek. i really didn't enjoy obs cos of the absolutely gross food. and living in such conditions... i mean oCS people are already supposed to be living damn comfortably but oh gosh the smell the smell! bleah. i can't possibly take that. hmm but ok i did enjoy the trip. was really quite interesting. and did i mention they had really nice refreshments? the donuts were so yummy. oh too bad you couldn't eat them, bird! yeah well this trip sparked a lot of "so are you going to try for NS?" when i told ppl about how i looked at everything in a new light. just so you know, i'm no tough cookie! i think i'll just study thanks :)

today!: being the rootless, soulless (?) person that i am, i didn't go back to rgs. or nyps for that matter. went with my sisters to holland v for lunch. so gooooooooood! we went to this italian restaurant next to fosters. the pizzas and pastas are only $8! and they're damn good. we had seafood pasta which was so lovely. mussels! yum yum. and a cream-based bacon and mushroom pasta. also really good. and pizza! but the portions were a bit small. anyway i thought the manager/owner was really attentive and nice. but dardy said he reminded her of the landlady (roald dahl) cos she said he was damn friendly in a creepy way. right...

then moved on to dessert at the crustacean. warm chocolate cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it is so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so good!!!!!!!! really, until you eat it, you'll have no idea how good it is. the cake is like really crumbly and the inside is completely oozing with chocolate........... which is all warm and thick and tastes so damn good. before the waitress even put it down i could just smell it :) ok anyway, the restaurant's really cool. the deco i mean. it's a sea theme with plum walls and dark wood tables with white leather chairs. so posh right? and i was there in my pe t-shirt and shorts! haha. but the back of the restaurant damn stinks. oh and the toilet! hahahha. this is damn funny: having drunk lots of water at both restaurants, i really needed to go. so before you actually step into the toilet you can see the damn seats from outside. then i saw there were all these random brown patches on it and i was like: oh my gosh! who the hell shat like that all over the stupid seat? what kind of crap place expects me to use a shit-covered toilet?? (which bird will prob like) then i went in to inspect cos i really needed to pee and then i realized they were BROWN coloured seashell pictures on the seat. yikes.

newater is good for us!

charlie young (8 days) wrote this for jay chou's qi li xiang album review : "...his trademark mumble, which is at its most garbled yet (on 'My Territory', he practically sings in a new foreign tongue)." you've got to be kidding me man. his pronounciation is at its BEST on that track? no one could've done that rolling tongue thing la.

if you're wondering, the album got four out of five stars.

the class went to NEWater plant today for our learning journey. so ymw and i were listening to jay chou on the bus! good stuff. on the way in, we saw some algae-filled reservoir which we suspect is the source of NEWater. then we toured the place and took some pictures and watched some video clips.

NEWater is not something i would want to drink.

I SAW YOU ON TV! along with jasho and qinghui and yuan yin and a whole lot of rj and rg people. i was so desperately trying to spot your small head and i almost missed it cos you were right at the side! so funny, you were smiling! haha :) oh goody, now you have an endless supply of chinese books! hurray, start working on your chinese ymw! i thought they would have english books too. it's for bilingual students after all.

haiya this ymw the freak of nature left me ALL ALONE after physics lecture and i had to spend MORE THAN HALF the day without her! :( i was so miserable. now i know how she felt when i left after scraping my knee and breaking my tooth. but thankfully there was pw, so we didnt have a choice but to stick to our group members. which wasnt a very good thing cos the agenda for today happened to be "pull out all of bird's kinky hair". kitfei should become a professional kinky hair plucker.

and there's that stupid s cube seminar tmr at the other end of the island. i never knew we could earn citizenship hours. whatever the hell it is.

blazer day 2

had that ceremony to receive my pm book prize today. got to leave class at 1030! woot! no pw... no bio prac.... got changed and created a hole in my stockings! damn. i'm not gentle enough. and i took the wrong set of stockings (is it a pair of stockings? cos they're in one piece so they can't really be a pair technically. whatever) so they felt a bit uncomfortable. i was so scared i was going to split them just before i went on stage (for the record, i didn't)

ok then my sister picked me up from school, along with jasho, xinling and 2 guys(i don't know how to spell for now so to save some embarrassment, they'll just be 2 guys) had a rehearsal before that and got a peek at the reception (!!!!)

actual thing: can i say firstly that the auditorium at the RELC is freezing! yes the blazer keeps you warm but i've got my legs bare except for my very thin and threatening-to-tear stockings. brrrrrrr... then had to endure the embarrassment of my dad coming up to take a photo of me. which sparked an entire chain of kiasu burger parents who refused to be outdone by my dad. hahaha then GOH arrival. chan soo sen. hmm. ok next. managed to get on stage without tripping/falling/tearing my stockings. AND i remembered to smile for the camera and bow :) oh but i'm extremely disappointed that i wasn't identified to speak to GOH or the press. like seriously, how do they choose these ppl? i mean qinghui i can understand. but what abt me? hahaha missed this 30sec of fame. darn. next time!

reception! pretty yummy. the durian pancake was lovely! there was all sorts of yummy things, tako pachi, kueh lapis! and just the way i like it too, with prunes. and i really liked the punch they were serving. i was so thirsty, which according to the pe teacher means i've been dehydrated for an hour.

right and i met lots of ppl there. 3 generations of math teachers! pri, sec, jc. and of course my pri school v-principal was extremely keen to meet me and i believe i should be gracing the next nanyang primary school newsletter. then lots of photos with deborah tan and the rg contingent and also the rj bunch. anyway the 'prize' is a whole paperbag of CHINESE books. oh joy and jubilation. oh and $200.

i love the olympics. i'm addicted!! was watching table tennis today, hoping that li jia wei would win the bronze medal. it seems singapore will never win a medal in a thousand years. anyway, the bronze medal fight was so damn boring compared to the finals. zhang yining is a class act and she deserves that gold medal. her attack was crazy! too powerful. that noisy north korean got thrashed 4 sets in a row! unbelievable. table tennis is fun!

blazer day

i guess you can look at it another way and say that jay chou is such an unknown that that girl doesn't know him or that he usually looks so bad she can't recognize him! haha ok i'll lay off him for the moment.

speech day was ok. i didn't trip... and i got to meet some ppl like the 403-hc ppl and my juniors. and my sister's badminton mates. but i'm quite sad cos the reception was lousy. damn i was so looking forward to it. oh and for the concert, the chinese orchestra's item was damn good! the drummer was such a pro. although i didn't enjoy the other parts like that awful blow-instrument that reminds you of funeral processions.

haha hey ymw! didnt manage to spot your favourite person at all. maybe that person wasnt going for lysistrata after all. false alarm! and btw, i think a certain person is not that bad looking. i mean. vomit?! i know my taste sucks but it's not THAT BAD! :(

anyway there are 2 or 3 more pages to go for superposition of waves. yay! rafflesian spirit has a special talent. she can actually put you to sleep without speaking at all. sarabird says she's a good tutor but that's quite doubtful isnt it.

then we finished watching let him have it for gp and it started raining. which was perfect cos the weather was so nice and pe was just theory. then it wouldnt stop raining so training was cancelled and i ended up collecting and signing on lysistrata tickets outside lt1 with laura and a girl called nicole who was supposed to be the usher. but we got to watch lysistrata for free so it wasnt too bad! it was quite funny and i liked the script.

guess what? there's NO gb tmr!! absolutely fabulous. i can FINALLY sleep in on a saturday. i need to majorly catch up on some sleep. and maybe practise some piano.

ps: btw, somebody picked up my phone after it landed really violently on the floor and said "who's that guy in your phone he's damn cute!" i must say she has good taste. who else can be in my phone besides JAY CHOU.

got lots of homework to catch up on these 3 days. how awful. anyway bird's at lysis-strata however you spell it. i have put her on assignment to get rid of any COMPETITION. hahahahaha. i think i should give that up. i'm glad bird has realized that about vomit... hah!

speech day tmr. darn i was trying karen's shoes on just now and they pinch my toes a bit. now how on earth am i going to get to the refreshments table fast enough? hmm and even wearing stockings you can see my tan line.

oh gosh i'm not getting much rest nowadays. like i sleep at the same time but i end up dreaming a lot. good dreams and bad dreams.

feeling quite good now... just spent about 1+1/2 hours talking to the rg girls trying to psyche them up for o levels. gosh i suddenly realize how much i miss them! sigh. yay luckily i'll see one of them on sat at SPEECH DAY. yet another milestone in the life of yingmei.

let told me something really interesting the other day. it's about how guys and girls perceive each other. see when girls meet guys, they immediately categorize them: 1. just friends and 2. potential mate-material. quite true eh? and if one guy from the 'friends' ladder tries to jump to the other one, it freaks the girl out completely. as for when guys meet girls... they only have one category. hahahaha. was quite amused.

hmm i shall go cut up my newspapers now. i just end up cutting out tons of articles and never reading through them. then i can sleep!

badminton is interesting!

aiya got home too late to watch the first set between ronald susilo and boonsak ponsana yesterday. i cant believe he lost 15-1. it's crazy! but the thai guy is scary, that cool round the back thing he did was damn good! and i made an interesting discovery. ronald susilo looks like jay chou from the side. i think it's the eyes and nose. weird! ymw gave this grossed out face when i told her. but anyway, small eyes(like ymw's:) and jay chou's) are cute!

yay spa is over and i managed to finish sarabird's book today! i cant decide if i like trashy books like can you keep a secret.

my tooth is still shaky.

and i need to sleep more.

well guess what? i'm the new catcher in training for the rj softball team. like wow. i mean seriously, you wouldn't consider me a catcher purely based on build. as i was telling the guy's catcher, you need to be rather how-shall-we-put-it: bulky. apparently not. we're just desperate cos no one else wants to catch. so there i was at training today trying to on the catcher's equipment. right. everyone was laughing at me! they better get used to it. and it is SO tiring just squatting there... what do you call the muscle near your shin?? anatomy time. well whatever it is it was under a lot of strain. then started my first day catching for jasho and kenneth. yay.

snag golf today... i think i owned everyone! hahahahahahahha. it was so funny. especially the cage. i think our group needs to move faster. argh i better go mug for physics spa now. i should have started yesterday. damn.

nothing much is happening these few days.

we had inter fac touch rug yesterday after school and guess what, cps didn't even turn up. fish, i stoned from 2 to 5 just for this la. and volleyball was so mega happening they had a commentator and music?! so we ended up playing arts fac first then engine fac. haah and we won both cos we had kitfei the crazy tracker who scored a thousand times! now the team is trying to persuade her to join our competition in nov so we can thrash hwa chong. fabulous.

mrs yeo and jai singh didnt come again. and so we've missed 3 pw sessions in 3 weeks. which isnt all that wonderful cos it means we've been slacking. and our written report is non existent. shit. why the hell is pw in our curriculum?

in-another-words-math-lecturer said something which wasnt very funny today. i suppose she meant it to be a joke but "God is not real" is not something you'll say in a math lecture.

i want to watch synchronised diving and artistic gym. and i cant cos school ends so darn late. sheesh. and ronald susilo is quite good!

well today was a fairly normal day, apart from the fact that it's ymw's birthday. snag golf was fine but i dont think i'll ever get it right. i just hope i wont kill one of those running fitness people with the ball. the rest of the day was ...

went with ymw to watch cheerleading. they're quite good ah, but it's highly possible to get killed while cheerleading. those stunts were damn scary! can you imagine getting flung around like a doll by some guy. he could fling you 100 metres away man!

playing inter faculty touch rug on monday! how exciting is that. we've got like 7 team people out of 11. which means if we lose it wont be very nice ah. :( oh well, just for the fun of it.

ran out of titles. again. so i shall make do with this.

anyway, havent been blogging for quite a while cos 1) i'm too lazy 2) my life is too boring 3) i'm sparing all of you the torture of reading my entries. well so now i've got something to blog about! the jay chou cd! not very exciting actually. as i told sarabird, it's above average but not as good as the fourth album. or maybe after a few more listens i'll like it even more. and if you're interested, personal favourites include tracks 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10. actually it's almost the whole album. and if you're a sucker for slow romantic songs like SARABIRD, listen to 3, 6 and 9 first.

yucky vaccinations tomorrow. shaun's father said that typhoid is bad. i bet sarabird will scream and be so drama mama! not nice. reminds me of primary 6 bcg jabs when my teacher had to chase my classmate around school cos she was crying like mad. :(

yay singapore idol after national day parade!!! i cant wait. i know i'm a sadist.

er no idea for titles. haven't been blogging for a while cos i've nothing much to say. week's been rather 'mellow'.
ah and i finally see the 'surprise' nuekus left. haha you should have gone for dinner. it was quite yummy. ---softball dinner last night. wasn't too bad i guess. spent the night playing ping-pong. and reached home quite late. i've got so much homework to do! and i've to analyse our pw survey by myself. what a gross weekend ahead of me.

but in the mean time, going for glorious seafood dinner tonight.

i've been feeling quite 'blah' of late. i'm not enjoying school and i seriously feel like my relationship with a certain individual isn't all that great. i mean sometimes you feel majorly pissed off with XXX because of something rather trivial and then next time you're having a jolly good time with the same person. it's like severe mood swings or something. i don't know. i just feel so annoyed but i can't show it. ugh. i seriously hope this is a passing phase.

anyway i had a nice time at my second chem lec of the day with shuching. and now i'm ahead of all you suckers for ionic equilibrium. yay. oh and i found out a few things about mr chem-relief-i-wear-the-same-clothes-everyday-tin-man. muahahahhahaha. he's a year below my sister at cambridge. and my sister was just mortified that he got the job and she didn't... that would be quite cool, innit? if my sis waltzed into class and started teaching reaction kinetics or something. and no i don't think he's got a gorgeous voice. honestly.

popiah vs peanut pancake.

i had a popiah party for me relatives yesterday. i hate popiah. but it was quite fun. my cousin is learning the guitar too and he can do all these cool electric-guitar techniques. i have to go for lessons soon. but i don't have time :(

i've added two new things to my favourite food list. teddy-bear cookies and peanut pancake. i bought this giant bag of teddy cookies at giant when we went for the softball prize pres. erin was really jealous and discontented with her cuttlefish after she tried the amazing teddy-bear cookies! as for peanut pancake (ming cheng kueh if you prefer) i've loved it for ages but only started a real frenzy for eating it recently. and now there's a new stall next to my sunday-morning-prawn-mee shop! hooray!

haven't done any real work this weekend. i've finally started working on a gp scrapbk and i'm practically shredding the entire newspaper. i think i'm overdoing it.
