back from malaysia and i'm sick! :( had a very good time. ate a lot a lot! haha guess who i met at a pee stop on the way there?? ck! but he was very dao. i thought meeting your classmate in malaysia is rare enough and i would have expected at least a "oh my fancy meeting you here!" or a "so where are you headed?" type of response but he was vague and "oh hello"-y. my sister said he probably needed to pee badly. oh well.

anyways stopped over at USJ to meet my aunt and we had yummyyyyyyy fried kway teow. i wish singapore char kuay teow would have more see hams. i love it yum yum yum... we reached my ah gong's place at about 3. it was so busy!

i was so excited!! my grandma already reserved a table for us! there was ipoh kuay teow, ah zhu's yong tau foo thingy, plate after plate of satay, chee cheong fun, popiah, this cuttlefish with kangkong in satay sauce... everything was so good! but the famous caramel custard was sold out already. i was very sad.

that night was our 'tuan yuan fan'. cos we're not going back to malaysia for CNY next year.
this is what the 7 of us had! it's pretty much the same thing every new year... there's fried fish, prawns, kampung chicken with gizzard liver heart, dong chai ba, siew yok and ipoh tauge (beansprouts.. that's how the coffeshops spell it)! i was so full!

next day had the same kuay teow and noodles for breakfast. and my ah gong made steamed bread for us
he is the big boss! and he always lets me take as many biscuits as i like from the counter
they are very very nice and crunchy! a bit like peanut love letters. heh i wanted to eat them again later that day and i was so sad when i saw it had sold out.... then my ah gong asked one of the boys working there to bring out a new gigantic bottle for me! yay! he asked me to bring the whole bottle home to eat... but i was getting a sore throat already so i only took about 10 home. went shopping after that. aiyah ipoh shopping is quite gross. stuff is quite cheap... but quite ugly too. ooh we went biscuit shopping too! my dad and i were so happy cos the shop had giant tins of peanuts! but we already bought a lot of peanuts so we didn't get the tin in the end. bird you like pong piah right?? the biscuit that's quite hollow with some sticky stuff inside??? i can give you some!

dinner at man zhong restaurant. damn funny! we were wedding crashers! there were like THREE wedding dinners going on that night! horrid right? we kept trying to see which bride was the prettiest. the couple closest to us looked very miserable (prob since they had to share the not-very-big restaurant) so my sisters and i yum seng-ed very loudly for them. i think the wedding guests were jealous of us cos our food was a lot nicer than theirs. heh then when we got back, we helped make custard!
my grandparents' pride and joy.... but i forgot to take a picture of the custard. we da pao-ed some home but we mutilated them trying to get them out of the tin. not as pro as my grandma.

next day headed home but stopped for ampang yong tau foo :D and we da pao-ed some for dinner as well.

ymw: eek die in the SAME BLAST?! well at least it'll be comforting to know that i died with someone i liked.

went out with mamabird and tzing today for lunch! and a little walk around orchard road to far east...more on that later. anyway, we went for lunch at crystal jade la mian xiao long bao! i love xiaolongbaos. and we all ate noodles except mmb. who ate the VEGETABLES UNDER THE XIAOLONGBAO. haha, she's probably the first person who eats that part. i always thought it was for decorative purposes. it was nice meeting up with both of them.. havent seen them in ages! especially tzing the chinagirl.. STRANGE GIRL WHO LIKES THE SUPERCUTS GUY. well so yes, tzing started talking about the "very cute guy" from supercuts who looks like xianghe from winter sonata(!!! i personally think xianghe is very cute. small eyes....!!) so since she couldnt stop talking about him, we decided to make a trip down to far east to spy on "the supercuts guy". so we were being super obvious, walking up and down the corridor. and tzing pointed out this guy who looks like shit from the back. so we went back to look again and when he turned around, sarabird and i burst out laughing. turned out she got the wrong guy. but seriously, XIANGHE DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THAT. goodness gracious. so we didnt get to see the cute supercuts guy. at least we know he doesnt look like. THAT. HAHA. then mmb went off to meet her law friends to chat about cheem law stuff and sarabird and i left tzing who went to starbucks to use her laptop. must meet up with them again.. damn fun. it's like watching MAMAbird and her child.

1. subway's oatmeal and raisin cookie is DAMN NICE. omg. reminds me of JOMA IN LAOS. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. i miss laos.

2. jay chou's FA RU XUE is DAMN NICE. it's so....i cant describe it man! and the way he sings it is SO NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how i wish i had a boyfriend who can sing like that! right sarabird and tzing! see. i am NOT a mad biased jay fan.

3. sarabird thinks i'm suakufied. NOT TRUE!

4. i want to watch narnia! and wallace and gromit! and memoirs of a geisha! zhang ziyi is SO CHIO. but she's not too nice huh. such a pity.

5. sarabird and i think we saw denise keller today. she had a cool hairstyle that looks like charlize theron's hairstyle in aeon flux. but she's er, shorter than me! (isnt she supposed to be like 1.7 m?!) well but we cant be too sure cos we cant really recognize denise keller with cool black hair.

gosh bird what a horrid thing to post! haha but i did the test and i'm also going to die from a bomb blast. same one you reckon? oh god oh god maybe this is a sign! my rgs nuclear bomb attack will take place. you have been WARNED!!!!!!! (as in my dream. i'm NOT going to carry out the actual attack)

anyway my sister got back this morning. she decided to bring just 2 t-shirts home (ok exaggerating) so her entire suitcase was filled with............ FOOOOOOOOD!! haha chocolate biscuits, chocolate, biscuits, cake!, crisps. haha seriously singapore marks and spencer is such a ripoff. expensive and they have so little variety. pish. she's sleeping now... my other sister is at training... i'm boreddd! actually i'm supposed to be doing an essay but.... haha

oh i've finally got csi season 5! yay! hmmm i didn't like the first 2 episodes. the 4th episode "crow's feet" is very good though! but i thought they should have discussed the issue a bit more. heh heh another 20+ episodes to go!!!! hmmm did i mention i watched wallace&gromit curse of the were-rabbit on the plane? it is so cool! and funny! but i thought it was a bit short. i bought the dvd for the short films in uk. it's really really good :) i like feathers mcgraw! haha oh and i'm debating whether to see narnia. i was pretty set on watching it at first but then i read the book again and i don't find it very exciting... and i think i must be really dense cos i never saw the christian parallels when i first read it. but i'm sure it's cos i was completely clueless about other religions at the time. except that they used to tell bible stories in kindergarten. oops.

behind me is ah zhu! heh i always wondered whether it's like "ah pig". he sells a sort of beef yong tau foo. it is really gooood! on the other side is the (closed) ipoh hor fun stall. dunno why they were closed that day. it's like one of the best around town! and my grandma makes famous caramel custard and zhai cha and barley and a lot of other yummy yummy stuff! haha my grandpa's coffeeshop is damn cool! chowyunfat michelleyeoh and jodiefoster have gone there to eat. possibly other celebrities but my ah gong wouldn't know even if he met them. haha oh gosh i'm so excited already!!!!!

sunday night went for cons' birthday party! had good fun... was a bit worried being the only j2 there but it turned out ok. food was good ooh and lovely lana cake! we played foozball like mad and i attempted to learn how to play bridge. i think i'm almost there :7 haha it was good to see the softballers again. always is! aiyah i wish all the j2/3s would get back to singapore quick then we can do fun stuff!!!!

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i can't think of anything to say... oh i found my tennis partner! yay! now i can kick ass!!!!

i'm feeling so mega pissed off. for good reasons. (no it's not pms) but then again, i'm probably just being paranoid and everything. i'm sure everything will fall nicely into place. :(

and i feel as if i've got NO FRIENDS! -gasp- sure, i talk to people and people talk to me. but no one's really interested in helping a friend in need.

AND. while writing christmas cards (why the hell should i even bother man), i suddenly remembered that the COUNCIL was supposed to print some batch address book, yeah?? so WHERE THE HELL IS IT?! would've made writing christmas cards much easier. are they going to send it in the MAIL?! seriously. irresponsible people. i cant remember if i paid for it. i hope i didnt.

yesterday i went to watch cheers youth international with my sister. how exciting! funnily enough most of the supporters were old men. hmmm i always thought i wasn't too bad at badminton but now i know i truly truly suck. i liked the boys doubles! (er i think it was under-15) heehee one of the players looks like my cousin from malaysia who also plays badminton. then i went to tampines with my sister cos she has training there. aye i was so inspired i desperately wanted to play but i was wearing a skirt :( haha i had no idea there were so many badminton fanatics around. yay now i've made my sister promise to bring me to watch all the tournaments cos it's funnnn! but as far as exciting competitions go i still rank tennis tops. which reminds me i need to find a tennis doubles partner! someone strong and dependable so i can whack my sister's team. damn damn damn

my other sister is coming home on friday!!! yay yay yay all the yummy food :) marks and spencer has very nice lemon drizzle cake. i don't think they have it here do they? haha then it's off to malaysia on sat. more yummy food. i hope we get some ampang yong tau foo on the way back! :) :) :) :)

funkyfish reunion!

this stomach flu virus is super potent. i've diarrhoea-ed at least 6 times since 9 am!! sheesh. even my legs have gone all wobbly.

i'm back! heehee i had a good time! my dad was really nice and let me use his seinheiser headphones that cancel out background sound so movie watching on the plane was most pleasant.

so on the first day we planned to go to a museum. you see it is important to keep ACTIVE! on the first few days to get your body adjusted (plus melatonin pills)... heh but after lunch at a place on oxford street we decided we needed to get some supplies so we ended up walking all the way down and back up the street. hee i dragged my dad into all the shops cos i desperately wanted to get a cute hat to keep my ears warm. and he didn't complain! i helped him pick out a cool wool suit so he can dress class. haha we didn't go to a museum in the end.

next day drove to cambridge. no casulaties! this is the college i went to: Queens'!
i was a bit scared at first cos the whole place was full of brit kids (duh). i didn't want to mug cos i think talking to other ppl helps warm up your mouth. right??? haha i ended up talking to quite a few ppl. and i met a guy from rj! anyway i honestly can't judge how it went. it was quite harrrrd :( oh well then met my dad, did a takeaway and drove to oxford! we got a bit lost.

seriously unglam here. haha so messy right?? and we were only there for a couple of nights. it was in my sister's college-- green college. it's really pretty :D

the next morning i went for lectures with my sister... all her friends thought she was completely nutters for bringing me there. we're not that geeky! honest! i figured it might be my only chance to attend an oxbridge lecture... plus i met a lot of her friends who were damn funny! i love the way they say: that stupid cow!

did quite a bit of sightseeing... there's the radcliffe observatory in her college. real class i tell you.

new college which hugh grant attended! these steps are supposed to be haunted...

christchurch college where apparently quite a bit of harry potter was filmed. the dining hall and the steps... plus a few other places but we couldn't quite picture them in the film. ugh there's some problem putting up the darn pictures. so that's all i'm going to show you.ah and i was very happy to find out that rah is still my tv best mate! yay!

CONCERT!!

the Mayday concert was DAMN GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! even better than jay chou's! (oops) anyway, i went with estella and -gasp- we bought LIGHT STICKS! hahah. and this time we were waving them around!!! woohooo. so fun. almost everyone turned up in red cos apparently wuyuetian asked us to. but then, the message never got to us so we turned up in black. MATCHING. (unintentionally). heh. wuyuetian is seriously talented.. and their music is so infectious! and happy! i still feel highhhhh now........ must go for the next concert. with estella!! :D

PROM!

i cant believe that my jc life is over! i'm old. i remember when i was younger, i used to wish that time would pass more quickly and that i'd be in jc sooner. now that i've FINISHED junior college, i wish that time didnt pass by so quickly. i dont want to grow up! although i've said that jc life has been disappointing, i guess it's mainly because it was so short and quick. especially this year, with tests and prelims and As and everything else. i think if there was more time(and if i had made an effort too), i'd have gotten to know my friends better. oh well, it's all over now! i just hope it'll not end here.. we have many more years to go! :)

so prom was at The Ritz-Carlton. it was so-so (including the food). ymw didnt come :(:(:( so i hung out with cooler people (like estella, marlom, jianhong, kevin, jon...)at my table. how i wish ymw had gone! now i dont even have a nice picture of us!! (of ymw actually. HHAHAAAAA) i guess i can always superimpose ymw's SEC FOUR ALMA MATER PICTURE in. HAHA. (horror of horrors!!!!!!) anyway, back to prom. the programme was ok, the emcee was like shit, the company was fine but i was still abit miserable! so i went around with estella finding people to take pictures with. at least i have a few nice ones this time round! alma mater was a complete disaster. i had like CHICKEN HAIR. talking about HAIR, sarabird and i went to hollywood secrets to do our hair..and we met lilian and friends there! so i told the lady i wanted a half up half down look and she said "hah so short! i try la". well it turned out quite nicely. but she went to CURL my hair. seriously. i've wanted straighter hair all my life and now...ok, but it wasnt too bad.

HA. it's been good getting to know you and although we arent exactly very close, i'm still glad that you're my friend!

PINK. alas, we ended up in the SAME JC CLASS! (you cant imagine how very horrified i must've been. 2 years with a scary girl!) but then, you turned out to be surprisingly friendly. i guess first impressions do not count! thank you for being "the only person in 3k who hangs out with bird". and for making jc life so much more bearable. :)

eeek i must seem like a sentimental old bird. oh yes, talking about bird, i am very amazed that this nickname has stuck for TWELVE YEARS! i cant even remember how it came about. or who gave me this nickname. it probably evolved from "elizabird". i guess it was necessary, "elizabeth" is quite a mouthful.

so thank you everyone for being part of my life. you've made a difference, no matter how insignificant!

ok i'm leaving in 7+ hours time. actually i have no clue what time the flight is. i only know it's late at night. which means i still have time to pack last minute stuff after dinner. hmmm this trip should be quite fun. just me and my dad. but being the only daughter on the trip means i have to navigate! argh nooo!!! i have like the worst sense of direction in my family (well mom and i are tied) so usually when we're driving overseas, my sisters navigate. but this time there is no escape! and there's a lot to navigate!

1. heathrow to baker street
2. baker street to cambridge
3. cambridge to oxford
4. oxford to heathrow

oh no. the last time i navigated from london to cambridge we took a wrong turning and ended up lost in finchley for more than an hour. pray i pull through this time.

i hate flying.... you know there's always that awful mucky smell of airplanes that just hits you in the face when you step in??? in spite of that i was actually thinking of becoming an air stewardess cos i was under the impression that the money was good. plus i'm tall enough. and from what i hear about the current standard of air hostesses, it must be pretty easy to get the job....

1. my dad got HOT coffee poured on his shirt one time... BA i think?
2. SQ stewardess asked my dad if he would like to have sa-say-mee prawns. i know like what??? turns out it was sesame.
3. can't remember which airline but my sister's friend got asked if he would like to have pee-nee-air-puh-lee juice. pineapple. right.
4. in thanking the passengers for their kind donations in mandarin, a stewardess said "gei yu" instead of "ji yu". 给于 wah my chinese is quite good. muahahaha i will rise quickly in this business!!!

heehee all this reminds me of the gwyneth paltrow movie 'view from the top'. mike myers was trying to teach the new air stewardesses how to speak properly: you are putting the em-PHA-sis on the wrong sy-LLA-ble. heehee that was stupidly funny.

oh and of course i've checked out the movies on my flight. qantas entertainment is miserable compared to SIA 60 channels. but anyway there's....

the transporter 2. oh hell no! unless all the other channels break down during the flight. far from suave the male lead really gives me the heeby-jeebies.

must love dogs. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. i hate john cusack. after watching america's sweethearts my sister and i are convinced that he is a very lousy kisser and hence makes a poor choice for a lead in a romantic comedy. seriously he looked like he was gonna swallow julia roberts and catherine zeta-jones.

cinderella man. erm not really something i'd pick but everyone tells me it's really good so i might watch it.

charlie and the chocolate factory! definitely watching this. after watching sleepy hollow i have this new found interest in tim burton and johnny depp. although they are both rather creepy warped creatures..

haha! went for sushi buffet at wheelock today with vanessa. and sarabird was so shocked. hha well i guess sushi's alright. the food's generally nice (especially CHAWANMUSHI!!!) and i dont get horror wasabe sushi. so yeah, i'm learning to like sushi! heh.

and while choosing ice cream flavours, vanness told me that apparently green tea kills sperms. so i said it doesnt bother me anyway and that crazy girl started laughing! haha. must go out more often with vanness, such a dodohead! :D

so i went to exchange the pair of shoes i got on saturday for nice cream ribbon things! i like! :) so now i've got my dress, shoes and ear rings. now i need to FIND SOMETHING TO DO AFTER PROM. oh how i wish i had more friends. like when i was in sec 4.......... arghhhhhhhhhh! i miss 7788! i miss 403! i miss rgs.

yay! after searching high and low, i've finally found a prom dress! :) and i like it! thanks to the sharp-eyed sarabird, who claims she spotted the turqoise section first :)

however, our class very unfortunately didnt manage to get a hotel room. !!!! i was actually quite looking forward to it.. i mean, it's not everyday that i get to stay at ritz carlton! :( and so i have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do after prom. just great. i hate this!

this morning i rolled out of bed at SEVEN because....
we were going for training!!!! yippee! the last time we played was in..... may i think!

it was so fun! i love training a lot :) look at our gorgeous field:

heehee it looks really bare but it actually has A LOT more grass than the mount sinai campus field. hah that field was like a desert.

ooh the skyline! unfortunately it didn't really look like that today... (i forgot my blasted camera) today was bloody bloody hot. gosh even now i can feel the heat radiating from my eyeballs.

we didn't do very much today because we've all grown old and the weather was really killer. haha we were celebrating as we did our warm up round cos we didn't hear any joints creaking! did the usual warm-up throws and batting. our throwing wasn't as bad as expected! batting was dreadful when we used the 'wicked' bat (such a cute name). but got better when we used the orange one. haha fielding was... well not too good. actually now that season is over i can confess... i hate fielding. i only like flyballs and line drives. i HATE grounders. haha we were batting all over the place and the fielders had to run everywhere. damn tiring!! argh and i kept trying to wrap my pe shirt around my arm cos i could just feel it roasting. (haha we always sing 'frying without wings' during training!) i'm so glad we never really trained in the morning. it's awful! by 11 we were pretty drained.... so we gave up and decided to leave for lunch.

hmmm next year we might help coach the c div team! what fun! and coach said none of the girls wanted to try for catcher. fools. haha! i really think catcher is one of the best positions to play (unless you have a really shitty pitcher).... you're well protected. you're always involved in the play. no fielding! and you never have to run very much. hmmm yes it is a good position.

ah miss loo has kindly reminded me...

i'm not going for prom!! who wants to buy my ticket?? you get a very good seat next to bird and it's at the same table as other cool people too! bah. i'll bet no one wants it :(

anyway you must go to the wallace and gromit website! it's so funny! i love the introduction bit where wallace has furry facial hair. hahah and the featurettes are lovely!

my favourite bit about the movie (from what i've seen in the trailers etc) has got to be ralph fiennes!
